One of my favorite things about the summer is throwing parties and barbecuing on the grill. It made perfect sense for Parker’s first birthday party theme to be a back yard barbecue.

It’s no secret I love using chalkboards. It has been such a fun way to document Parker’s milestones each month. I knew I wanted to incorporate chalkboards into Parker’s party. One of the FB co-ops I am in did one for these awesome mini chalkboards on close pins (similar found here). Which was great for all of the food and condiments on the tables.

I also wanted to use a few larger chalkboards for a menu display and a signature board. It just so happen, that there was a few pieces of strong cardboard from the packaging of Rob’s grill he got for Father’s Day. They were perfect these projects. The best part, it was FREE. I used the same can of chalkboard paint from a previous project and the cardboard. It just took a few coats, a little time to dry, a few accent pieces from my Cricut and presto, chalkboards galore!
